Project Rousseau invites you to participate in the inaugural Project Rousseau Summer Institute taking place from Monday 8th July through Friday 23rd August 2019. This program will provide you with extraordinary opportunities to prepare for college and ensure that you are a competitive applicant to some of North America’s most prestigious institutions. This past year Project Rousseau students were admitted to Harvard, Stanford, UChicago, Georgetown and McGill University. We believe that through active participation in the Project Rousseau Summer Institute and continued commitment to your academics and community service endeavors throughout your high school that you too would be a strong applicant to these, and similar, colleges. The Project Rousseau Summer Institute is comprised of three different pillars:

  1. Academic Preparation: Colleges need to see your academic potential to ensure that you can thrive at their institution. Colleges will assess this through your SAT score, your AP scores and your high school. Upon enrolling in the Project Rousseau Summer Institute you will be assigned an academic advisor for the summer, they will work with you to devise an individual study plan for you. Over the summer you will have access to individual and small group tutoring sessions in accordance with this study plan.

  2. Community Service: Colleges look for both a strong and prolonged commitment to community service. Over the summer you will have the opportunity to engage in community service both through our regular Amsterdam Nursing Home volunteer program and through office-based projects.

  3. Broadening Horizons: Through our Broadening Horizons pillar you will have the opportunity to explore your existing interests, as well as, learning about new topics. This will be very important for your college essay and also to shape your choices as you continue through the college process.

In recognition of their commitment, students will be eligible to achieve one of three awards at the end of the summer:
