2016 Leadership Summit

The first weekend of August saw many of our Chapter Presidents attend our annual Leadership Summer. These dedicated volunteers are our main coordinators of Project Rousseau on their campus, and they are critical to helping us achieve our mission.

On Friday our management team met to discuss our wider vision for the forthcoming academic which include a number of exciting opportunities and more students than ever participating in Broadening Horizons in their own city, other chapters and abroad. To quote Andrew: “This year we will be more adventurous and creative!” .

The next day all the Chapter Presidents gathered for breakfast at Columbia University before an industrious day of meetings. These included general discussion groups on aspects such as Publicity and Press Outreach and how to improve our overall administration. Each Chapter then met with Andrew to discuss more individual needs, from how to reach students without phone access to our new Community Service venture in DC learning Sign Language and volunteering at a nursery for deaf children.

The summit ended with an evening of entertainment at our WeWork office. Our Chapter Presidents left with grand plans for the year ahead and also looking forward to seeing each other soon on one of our planned domestic exchanges.
